A Message from the Principal

Esmond School serves students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8, providing a rigorous and supportive educational environment grounded in research-based instructional practices. The school is committed to fostering academic excellence, critical thinking, and social-emotional development for all learners. Esmond offers a comprehensive curriculum aligned with state and national standards. For students in Grades 6–8, Esmond implements the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (I.B.M.Y.P.) a globally recognized framework that emphasizes inquiry-based learning, intercultural understanding and the development of responsible global citizens. In addition to the core academic program, Esmond provides a range of extended learning opportunities designed to strengthen student achievement in reading, mathematics and science. Through targeted after-school programs, students engage in activities that enhance critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving skills; key components of college and career readiness. Through the 21st Century Community Partnership, Esmond School further enriches the student experience by offering programs that support social growth and cultural awareness. These include hip hop dance, chess, African dance and drumming, cheerleading, hair braiding, jewelry making, culinary dining, multimedia and library enrichment. Our team also offers math and science clubs, martial arts, line dancing for adults on Saturday and a variety of athletic programs. Esmond School remains dedicated to preparing all students to become competent, confident, and compassionate learners who are equipped to meet the challenges of an ever-changing global society.
