A Message from the Principal

Logan Square Elementary School is a vibrant community school located in the Logan Square neighborhood. As one of the largest and oldest schools in the area, we have amazing facilities for our students. We have large classrooms, two gymnasiums, a new turf and playground, and an auditorium with updated lighting and sound features.

Our K-8 teachers have received training on personalized learning and differentiation to address individual student needs in reading, math, social studies, and science. Logan Square prioritizes a holistic view and has time dedicated to daily Social Emotional Learning and weekly lessons using the Second Step curriculum. Our successful Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system includes a school store where students spend their earned ‘sky bucks’.

Logan Square has many partnerships with organizations like Beverly Arts Center, Metropolitan Family Services, Communities in Schools, Ballet Folklorico de Chicago, and the Puerto Rican Arts Alliance, which bring programs like Spanish Guitar and Cuatro. We offer many after-school programs at no cost to families, including a chess team - which has competed in the national competition in Washington D.C.! Logan Square also has a long-standing relationship with the Palenque Logan Square Neighborhood Association and the Parent Mentors program.

As a community, we strive to become a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive school community. Visit us to learn more.

We are proud to offer a robust PK program in all five of our PK sections. To apply to our PK program, visit chicagoearlylearning.org. PK hours are 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Our K-8 student enrollment is based on attendance boundaries, but families can apply to the Magnet Cluster-World Language program if they are outside school boundaries.
