A Message from the Principal

A Message from the Principal

Nate Lowry has spent his entire career working in K-12 education as a teacher, leader, coach, and principal. He is thrilled to join the Baker bobcats as the campus principal and is excited to ensure that Baker College Prep lives up to its promise of ensuring all scholars are valued members of a community where they are physically, mentally, and emotionally safe and experience rigorous and relevant curriculum and instruction. In his most recent role as Chief Academic Officer of the Academies of Math and Science, Nate managed the Schools and Academic Teams, leading the network to be the largest, highest-performing charter in the state of Arizona serving predominantly low-income students. Prior to his time at AMS, he worked as Executive Director for IDEA Greater Austin, where he oversaw 16 schools serving almost 10,000 students. During his tenure as a campus principal, Nate led IDEA Montopolis College Preparatory to be the only school in east Austin to earn a TEA A Rating in 2018. Nate is a proud Cornell University graduate, and also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbia. He strongly believes in holding all students and adults to high expectations while also practicing empathy, and is focused on finding innovative programming that closes the experience gap for all students. When he’s not working you’ll find him traveling, spending time with friends and family, and working out.
