The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) is dedicated to providing parents and families of Chicago Public Schools (CPS) students with disabilities the knowledge and resources they need to support their child's success.
Through the OSD Parent University, parents and families are able to participate in monthly virtual no-cost workshops and trainings that share new skills and strategies that help to support their child’s academic success, further their own education, and promote advocacy for their child with a disability.
Each meeting is led by the OSD Parent Support Specialists, in partnership with thought leaders, experts, and advocates from local community and civic organizations and agencies.
Past topics include an overview of the Individualized Education Program (IEP), executive functioning, compensatory education, and other special education related topics. View the recordings of the 2024-2025 Parent University trainings and workshops.
