Share Your Voice Regarding CPS Facilities: Join Us at an Upcoming Community Roundtable

Dear CPS Staff and Families,

Every five years, CPS creates an Educational Facilities Master Plan (EFMP). This plan guides CPS’ efforts to update, improve, and modernize the environments where our students learn. In order to create the best plan possible, we need your voice! 

From December 2023 through February 2024, CPS is hosting 16 neighborhood-specific roundtable discussions across the city regarding our school facilities. As part of these discussions, families and staff will be able to collaborate and share their thoughts on how the District should prioritize repairs, construction projects, and overall investments in our school buildings. You can view the schedule and register here for the roundtable discussion in your community. Use this map to find the meeting that will be held in your community.

What’s New

Several of the community roundtable meeting times and dates have recently changed. Final dates and times are available on the CPS website. 

Additionally, each session will now offer a virtual option. Those joining the meetings virtually will be able to view the presentation, participate in breakout room discussions, and give direct feedback to session leaders. 

Finally, Spanish and ASL translations will be provided at all EFMP meetings.

To guarantee a spot, please register 48 hours prior to the start of a community roundtable session.

The information gathered in these sessions will be used to inform our Educational Facilities Master Plan, the District’s upcoming five-year strategic plan, and future facility improvement efforts.

Estimadas familias y miembros del personal de las CPS: 

Cada cinco años, las CPS crean un Plan Maestro de Instalaciones Educativas (EFMP, según sus siglas en inglés). Este plan dirige nuestros esfuerzos por actualizar, mejorar y modernizar los ambientes en los que aprenden nuestros estudiantes. ¡Necesitamos sus voces para poder crear el mejor plan posible!

De diciembre de 2023 a febrero de 2024, las CPS llevarán a cabo por toda la ciudad dieciséis mesas redondas comunitarias sobre las instalaciones escolares. Estas discusiones, específicas a los barrios de la ciudad, permitirán a las familias y el personal colaborar y compartir sus ideas sobre cuáles deberían ser las prioridades del Distrito en cuanto a reparaciones, proyectos de construcción e inversiones generales en nuestros edificios escolares. Pueden ver el programa e inscribirse aquí para las mesas redondas de sus respectivas comunidades, y pueden utilizar este mapa para encontrarlas.

Varias de las fechas y horas de las mesas redondas comunitarias han cambiado recientemente: las fechas y horas finales pueden verse en el sitio web de las CPS.

Adicionalmente, cada sesión ahora incluirá una opción virtual. Aquellos que participen en las reuniones virtualmente podrán ver la presentación, participar en discusiones de subgrupos y ofrecer sus opiniones directamente a los líderes de cada sesión. 

Finalmente, todas las reuniones sobre el EFMP ofrecerán interpretación al español y el ASL. 

Para garantizar sus espacios, favor inscribirse al menos 48 horas antes del comienzo de la sesión que les interese.

La información obtenida en estas sesiones informará nuestro Plan Maestro de Instalaciones Educativas, el próximo plan estratégico quinquenal del Distrito y futuros esfuerzos para mejorar instalaciones.
