LSC Election Judges

Local School Council election judges play a crucial role in LSC elections every year by overseeing the election day process.

Judges are responsible for monitoring the electoral process by:

  • Verifying voter eligibility
  • Issuing ballots to verified voters
  • Counting votes
  • Presenting the election results to the school community

The deadline for submitting applications is February 21, 2024.

2024 Online Application

For the 2024 LSC Election, CPS is utilizing an online application process to hire election judges. We are using DocuSign, with industry-standard data encryption technology, to enable you to submit your application securely to the Office of Local School Council Relations. The Election Judge Application is available in English and Spanish.

To start the process, request an election judge application using the form linked below:

Request Election Judge Application

Once the form is completed, an application will be emailed to you at the email address that you have indicated. Please allow up to two business days for a reply and an email from DocuSign with a personalized link to your LSC Judge Application. Do not share your judge application link, as it is specific to you. Once you start the application,  complete it as soon as possible. If it is not completed and signed, the document will expire in fourteen (14) days.

In order to work for CPS, you will need to complete an LSC Election Judge application, a W-9 IRS Form and a CPS Internal Accounts Vendor Form. The information you provide on your application and W-9 Form must match the information associated with your social security number.

If you have questions about completing the Election Judge Application online or if you need assistance in completing the forms, please call the Office of Local School Council Relations at 773-553-1400 or email LSCRelations@cps.edu.

Judge Training

Judge applicants who receive a commission letter assigning them to serve as an election judge at a school will need to attend a two (2) hour in-person training session. Assigned judges who have not taken the training will not be allowed to serve as a judge and will not be paid.

The commission letter will include the time and locations of the training sessions. Training will be scheduled for the three weeks before the elections.

Judges can be assigned to work Wednesday, April 10, 2024 (Elementary) and/or Thursday, April 11, 2024 (High School) . Judges are paid $275 PER DAY worked.
