The FAB is a community of dedicated families of students with disabilities with a shared interest to support students by enhancing special education support and services.
The FAB provides a space for monthly collaboration focused on students with disabilities in CPS. FAB meetings unite families, CPS staff, community agencies, and ISBE to work together to influence positive outcomes for all students with disabilities and their families.
During monthly 90-minute meetings, FAB provides regular feedback from families and the community, allowing the OSD to make data-driven decisions that align with the lived experiences of those directly impacted by their services. All meetings are open to the general public with recordings available to view.

Join the Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) Parent University for a workshop designed to empower you with the knowledge needed to advocate effectively for your child.
The special education process can be hard to manage. There are complex federal, state, and local laws and policies that are difficult to understand and many people and roles involved.
We will guide your through your parental rights and responsibilities in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Section 504 processes at CPS and equip you with understanding and tools that will ensure your child receives the support and accommodations they need to succeed.
This parent centered workshop will be led by:
