Summer Credit Recovery

High school students can enroll in summer school to retake courses they previously failed or to take courses they need to graduate on time.

Taught by highly qualified and certified teachers, CPS summer school classes are offered in English, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, World Languages, Fine Arts, and other academic subjects.

Summer course offerings are announced in May. The listing identifies courses offered by each participating school, school addresses, and when each school will host registration.

Registration Requirements

Only active CPS District school (non-charter, non-contract) students and students enrolled at Chicago High School for the Arts may enroll in credit recovery summer classes. Students enrolled at CPS alternative, charter, and contract schools, except Chicago High School for the Arts, are not eligible to attend summer school credit recovery classes.

Before registering for summer school, students must see their school counselor to be registered.

No student may register without proper documentation.
